Colonial Recruiting Rankings: Version 1.0

Delaware is bringing in a big time recruiting class for 2017, with an emphasis on big. The Blue Hens added two centers who stand 6-5 and 6-3, and that towering duo pushed Delaware to the top class in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Here is a team-by-team look at the CAA recruiting classes as ranked by the All Star Girls Report (individual rankings as of Version 1.0), along with comments from ASGR analyst Bret McCormick.

  • No. 465   Erin Antosh, 6’3, C., North Middlesex HS, MA
McCormick: “Delaware is adding two players who will shore of their frontcourt for the future. Both players should be able to help right away, and Antosh could move to the power forward spot.”

2- ELON

McCormick: “Their new staff did a good job. Bellerand is a tough player who can score the basketball, and she fits their system.”

McCormick: “Charleston has a balanced class. They are adding one strong, low post enforcer type, plus two quality shooting guards.”

6- NORTHEASTERN

  • No. 789   Jasmin Watson, 5’8, SG., West Winsdor HS, NJ
McCormick: “They are signing two guards from New Jersey, and it’s a good backcourt combination. Clark is a tough, feisty point guard who can run the show and score. Watson is a two guard with a scoring mentality.”

7- UNC-W

  • No. 628   Charity Powell, 6’2, WF., East Columbus HS, NC
McCormick: “This is a very good sign for them. Powell is a long, athletic wing who should provide immediate help. She is the type of player that will help them take a step forward.”

8- HOFSTRA

McCormick: “Hofstra is getting a nice player. Hines is an athletic player who can score off the bounce, or from the three-point line.”

9- WILLIAM & MARY

McCormick: “Rogers is an athletic, skilled power forward who will give them support along the front line.”
